Bengal cat 5

The Bengal is a relatively new hybrid breed of cat, formed by the cross of a domestic feline and an Asian Leopard Cat ("ALC"). Bengal cats have "wild-looking" markings, such as large spots, rosettes, and a light/white belly, and a body structure reminiscent of the Leopard Cat (Prionailurus bengalensis bengalensis).

The Bengal cat has a desirable "wild" appearance with a gentle domestic cat temperament, provided it is separated by at least three generations from the original crossing between a domestic feline and an Asian Leopard Cat. The name Bengal cat was derived from the taxonomic name of the Asian Leopard Cat (P. b. bengalensis), and not from the unrelated Bengal tiger.

See Bengal for more.

Featuring Project[]

This project is to help make Dogs and Cats Wiki's articles the best they can be. To start with, the purpose of the program is to improve Dogs and Cats Wiki's articles by expanding and formatting them, in an order for edition. All the articles of this wiki are shown in this page with their respectively grades. Every article also has a short comment for becoming better. This is very useful as the users know what an article needs to be improved. Each month at least one article must be featured (Grade A) or two get the Grade B. This page is also mentioned to everything that will solve the users' questions in editing. That includes a format for the breed articles and templates to use, too.

The Collaboration of October 2010, is to start the articles below:

  • [[Manx]
  • Egyptian Mau
  • Norwegian Forest

Project of the Month[]

Each month Dogs and Cats Wiki tries to gather some articles that are in need of major improvement. This includes adding internal links, content, references, pictures, templates and anything else that might improve the article in question. This month's project is:

Adding lots of pictures!
